In Pakistan, Acted has been active since 1993 and has provided assistance across all provinces to an estimated 6.9 million people. The assistance has included emergency response to meet the immediate and live-saving needs of natural disaster and complex emergency affected households, as well as recovery and development support in the form of education and livelihoods promotion and assistance.
Assignment
The Database Officer is responsible for consolidating ACTED Punjab Database and presenting data collected by the MEAL Field Teams and supporting the data entry when necessary. He is also in charge of the preparation, conception and production of maps; the supervision and monitoring of mapping-related data collection.
Functions
A. Development of Information Collection Mechanisms
- To ensure regular gathering of data collected by Program/Monitoring teams;
- To develop ACCESS database for data entry;
- To ensure accurate and timely entry of data into the database and support data entry where necessary;
- To ensure proper filing of data;
- To work closely with the other Database, Program/ AMEU staff to regularly enter, cross check data and update household data collected in the field.
B. Data Analysis
- To analyze data as per demand of MEAL Manager / Program Manager;
- To produce synthetic reports, properly filed and transferred into the Resource Center.
C. Preparation, conception and production of maps
· To collect mapping needs from every departments;
· To identify and access map information sources;
· To ensure accurate link between map and Database data, solving all eventual discrepancies;
- To provide GIS teams in country office with the necessary data to develop maps;
- To ensure that the produced maps meet the requirements of concerned ACTED departments and are properly filed and transferred to the Resource Center;
- To disseminate the new maps to the concerned departments.
- To organize and supervise GIS field missions;
- To monitor accuracy of data collected
D. Reporting
- To work according to the priorities set by the AMEU/Program/Coordination;
- To report to the Data Base Coordinator at frequent and regular intervals on the progress of data entry and any outstanding inaccuracies and / or discrepancies;
- To provide a weekly progress report to the AMEU Manager on activities carried out by the database team.
Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries
The staff member is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies. This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
PSEAH Obligation:
Acted has zero tolerance approach on PSEAH matters and as an Acted employee It is my utmost duty to ensure full compliance of PSEAH policies in Acted and outside Acted as well. I will not engage in any PSEAH violations and will ensure team working under my supervision will also follow the same protocols. I shall not be involved in any sexual exploitation or abuse. I shall ensure to comply with the highest standards of moral and ethical conduct. Any incident of SEA shall be reported to Acted. Any failure by myside to take preventive measures against sexual exploitation or abuse, or to investigate allegations or take corrective action, shall constitute grounds for termination of the Agreement.
For the purposes hereof, the following definitions shall be used.
Sexual exploitation means any actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, differential power, or trust, for sexual purposes, including, but not limited to, profiting monetarily, socially or politically from the sexual exploitation of another.
Sexual abuse means the actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions
